Job Title: Cyber Analyst Apprentice

Paid Hours per week: Part-Time (20-24 hours) with Required Technical Coursework

Work Schedule: Weekdays (M-F), approximately 3 days per week during regular business hours. IBM to determine exact work schedule prior to job offer.

Hourly Wages: $21/hour

Length of apprenticeship: 6 months

Start: January 2027

Modality: In-person

Apprenticeship Overview: An apprenticeship is a paid “earn-and-learn” program that combines college classroom instruction with practical, on the job work experience. Apprentices split their time each week between participating in IT classes at CCC and working for their apprenticeship employer. Students will be paid for the hours they work at their apprenticeship worksite.

Job Summary:
As a Cyber Analyst Apprentice, you’ll join a structured, earn-and-learn program designed to build foundational and applied cybersecurity skills. Working alongside experienced analysts and mentors in a collaborative environment, you’ll develop core technical competencies and gain hands-on exposure to real project work, progressing over a structured program that combines on-the-job training with formal technical instruction. Exact day-to-day responsibilities will be shaped by the specific team, project needs, and specialization path assigned during the program.

Responsibilities:
General responsibilities are expected to evolve as the program and specific team placement are finalized. In general, apprentices should expect to:

  • Build foundational knowledge in AI and related technical concepts through structured coursework and self-paced learning
  • Apply new skills to supervised, hands-on project work alongside experienced team members
  • Collaborate with mentors, managers, and project teams to complete assigned tasks and deliverables
  • Participate in ongoing skill assessments, feedback sessions, and professional development activities
  • Complete a capstone project or final deliverable demonstrating applied competency near the end of the program

Minimum Qualifications

The following are general qualifications for IT apprenticeship roles at IBM. Exact qualifications will vary by role and will be communicated during the screening process.  

  • Education: Must be enrolled at CCC for Spring 2027 in a relevant degree program or continuing education (CE) IT course. Preference will be given to candidates graduating in May 2027. 
  • Skills: Basic computer literacy; interest in enterprise systems or business technology, exposure to programming, data, or technology concepts 
  • Experience: Prior coursework and/or exposure to technology-related fields  
  • Persistence:  ability to adhere to strict schedule – equally prioritizing required apprenticeship coursework and on-the-job training   
  • Competencies: Strong willingness to learn, adaptability, problem-solving ability, and communication skills; ability to work both independently and collaboratively on a team
